An overworked employee of a hotel dances through an unexpected work shift in the video entitled “Side Effects” by the Chainsmokers featuring Emily Warren. The clip, which was directed by Matthew Dillon Cohen, stars Riverdale‘s Camila Carraro Mendes (Brazilian American actress) as a hotel employee. At the beginning of the video, her boss calls her to inform her that she will be working throughout the weekend. However, instead of hunkering down, the character of Mendes rips off her uniform, then starts to shimmy through the hotel to the bubbly dance-pop by Chainsmokers.
“Side Effects” song marks the fifth song of this year by The Chainsmokers following “Everybody Hates Me,” “You Owe Me,” “Sick Boy,” and “Somebody,” which features Drew Love. The Chainsmokers are working on their next album entitled Sick Boy; it’ll follow their breakout debut entitled Memories… Do Not Open, which was released in April 2017. The duo has a handful of United States concerts scheduled in Aug, Sep, and Oct. Their next gig will take place in Aug 26 at Las Vegas, Nevada-based XS Nightclub.

“Closer” was the duo’s first single to become number one on the chart. Additionally, they have won eight iHeartRadio Music Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards, and two American Music Awards. In November 2016, Collage (the duo’s second EP) was released. Taggart described The Chainsmokers’ music as shading the lines between hip-hop, dance music, pop music, and indie. The duo has cited deadmau5, Linkin Park, and Pharrell Williams as musical influences.
